Every fanbase is excited about their respective NFL team's prospects in training camp. After all, we've got glowing reports from beat writers and fans haven't actually seen their squad lose yet. Even the Houston Texans have some hope!

For the New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles, though, that optimism has roots in reality.

Each franchise transformed their offenses in the offseason, with the Jets drafting Ohio State standout Garrett Wilson and excellent running back Breece Hall while signing C.J. Uzomah to pair with Corey Davis and rising star Elijah Moore.

Philadelphia made a gigantic splash prior to the draft, trading for one of the sport's best wide receivers, A.J. Brown. With 2021 Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith, Miles Sanders and Dallas Goedert already in the fold, quarterback Jalen Hurts has a gluttony of talented skill position players to utilize.

Truthfully, I'm excited for both teams as well. But who has the edge in Week 1 of the preseason? Let's check out the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to find out:

Jets vs. Eagles Prediction and Pick

While the offensive additions have Jets fans excited, I'm most encouraged by selecting cornerback Sauce Gardner. He's one of the most dominant defensive backs we've seen in college for some time, and he's been electric in camp:

At the least, New York's defense should be noticeably improved. I have my doubts about Zach Wilson after that disastrous rookie season, but the Jets should at least become a serviceable team in 2022.

That being said, Jalen Hurts is one of my favorite quarterbacks I've ever watched (shoutout my man CJ for getting me his Oklahoma jersey a while back) and I can hardly contain my excitement for the Eagles offense. Between Hurts, Brown, Smith, Sanders, and Goedert, I don't know what defenses are supposed to do.

Philadelphia is going to make the playoffs. Write it in stone. Thus, I'm thrilled to back the Eagles as home underdogs, especially against a quarterback and coach I don't fully trust yet.

Pick: Eagles (+100)
