The Winnipeg Jets hit the road to kick off a four games road trip tonight to Calgary to take on the Flames.

The Jets are just 5-4 over their last nine games but that marks an improvement over where this team was a couple of months ago. The Jets are 22-19-8 on the year and rank sixth in the Central Division.

The Flames, on the other hand, lead the Pacific Division with a 29-13-6 overall record and have won an impressive nine games in a row dating back to Jan 30. The Jets need to really get it together if they have any hope left of making the playoffs and now is the time to do it.

There are a dozen teams in the Western Conference within 12 points of each other and only seven playoff spots to go around. So, every win counts for a little bit extra, especially against other Western Conference teams. Here are the odds for tonight’s Central versus Pacific Division clash, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Jets vs. Flames Prediction and Pick

The Jets saw their modest two-game win streak erased in their last outing and will look to get back on track against one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now. The biggest advantage they might have here is Blake Wheeler who leads all scorers in the league with 16 points since the All-Star Break.

His teammate, Mark Schefele is tied for second in the NHL with 11 in that span. They also have a high-quality goaltender in Connor Hellebuyck who is leading this team with a .929 save percentage.

While this trio is leading the Jets to a quality second half so far, they are dealing with injuries that will continue to hamper their ability to climb the conference standings.

Despite these injuries, I think the Jets have a real chance to bust up the Flames’ win streak tonight. They have already beaten the Flames once this year 4-2 and we're not playing as well overall as they are right now. This feels like a good spot to nab an underdog win for Winnipeg.

Pick: Jets +185 to win
