Jets vs. Vikings Prediction and Odds for NFL Week 13 (Did Mike White Save the Jets' Season?)
By Josh Yourish
The New York Jets might have a quarterback. It’s funny how you can bench the worst statistical quarterback in the NFL and suddenly your offense gets much better. I certainly never would have expected that.
Mike White started the game and lit up the Bears for a 31-10 Jets win. Now, Robert Saleh’s team is 7-4 as they travel up to Minnesota for a matchup with the 9-2 Vikings.
Here are the odds for Mike White’s Jets against Kirk Cousins’ Vikings.
Jets vs. Vikings Odds, Spread and Total
Minnesota and New York Betting Trends
- Minnesota is 5-5-1 ATS
- New York is 7-4 ATS
- The Under is 7-4 in New York’s games
- The Over is 4-0 in Minnesota’s last four home games vs. a winning team
Jets vs. Vikings Prediction and Pick
The Vikings were able to beat New England on Thanksgiving at home despite missing Christian Darrisaw at left tackle. They only allowed one sack to New England who has the second highest pressure rate of any defense in football. Darrisaw is a big loss if he can’t go again this week with his concussion because he is Pro Football Focus’s No. 2 graded tackle this season
The Jets defense is predicated around getting pressure and doing it without blitzing. They have generated the fourth highest pressure rate in the NFL while blitzing the second lowest of any team. They have a 14.1% blitz rate.
If Darrisaw is out there that will be huge for Kirk Cousins because if the Jets don’t blitz he will need time to find an open man.
Mike White went 22-for-28 for 315 yards and three touchdowns against Chicago, but the Bears defense is terrible this year. Luckily for him, Minnesota’s defense isn’t much better, they are last in pass yards allowed per game. I like the Jets to win this game outright, but I think I’ll wait on Darrisaw’s status to bet on it.
If he’s out I’m all in, if he plays, I still like it, but don’t love it quite as much.
Lean: Jets +140
