Jimbo Fisher vs. Nick Saban (Oddsmakers Back Alabama By Wide Margin over Texas A&M for 2022 Win Totals

If Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher is looking for an offseason gig, how about adding college football hype man to his résumé?

Alabama head coach Nick Saban fired the first shots earlier in the week when he spoke at an event in Birmingham. In the midst of a statement, the legendary head coach addressed the ongoing NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) conversation in college football, and whether it's positively or negatively impacted the game.

"We were second in recruiting last year, A&M was first," Saban began.

"A&M bought every player on their team. Made a deal for name, image and likeness. We didn't buy one player. I don't know if we're going to be able to sustain that in the future because more and more people are doing it."

Over in College Station, Fisher decided he had enough, not only firing back at Saban, but going full scorched earth in the process.

"It's despicable that somebody can say things about somebody and, more importantly, 17-year-old kids. You're taking shots at 17-year-old kids and their families. That they broke state laws, that we bought every player on this group. We never bought anybody. No rules were broken. Nothing was done wrong."

Fisher also suggested that Saban believes he's at an untouchable level, and that there may be some skeletons in his closet worth looking into.

"Some people think they're God. Go dig into how God did his deal, you may find out about a lot of things that you don't want to know. We build him up to be the czar of college football. Go dig into his past."

Nick Saban Managed to Get a Feud Going with Deion Sanders in the Process

Saban also took a shot at Jackson State head coach Deion Sanders, claiming they paid one of their players $1 million last year to flip from Florida State.

"Jackson State paid a guy a million dollars last year that was a really good Division I player to come to the school, said Saban. "And they bragged about it. Nobody did anything about it."

Sanders disputed the claim on his Twitter account, while also posting for his followers to, "stay tuned."

Fisher may have slight bragging rights with Texas A&M knocking off Alabama 41-38 in College Station last year, but he'll have to travel to Tuscaloosa in 2022, with a big target on their back.
