Ahead of betting the Super Bowl, the old adage has been to bet overs early, and bet unders late.

Public bettors tend to wager on events they want to root for. From rushing yards to number of receptions, the game tends to be more fun when there's more action on the field. Hence the phrase, "life's too short to bet the under."

Besides the traditional odds, spread and total for Rams vs. Bengals (+4) | 48.5 over at WynnBET Sportsbook, there are already hundreds, if not soon-to-be thousands of proposition bets available for the big game. In fact, many of these offered bets will see the numbers change throughout the week depending on where money is coming in.

One OVER bet I've already jumped on before the final week of festivities from Los Angeles is on "total rushing yards," but not for either of the starting Rams or Bengals running backs.

Instead, I'm backing Joe Burrow to go over his projected total of 11.5 rushing yards at odds of -125 (bet $125 to win $100).

Joe Burrow Over/Under Rushing Yards Prop is a Steal

Burrow's overall rushing stats this year aren't anything to take to the bank, but they don't tell the full story either.

At the beginning of the season, Burrow was still easing into his recovery from a torn ACL, MCL and damanged PCL in his left knee. There was even concern during the preseason as to how much Burrow was trusting his own instincts upon returning to the field.

In the first two rounds of the playoffs, Burrow only ran four times for a total of three yards vs. the Raiders and the Titans.

However, Burrow was able to catch the Chiefs by surprise in the AFC Championship game as he scrambled on multiple 3rd and long plays to extend drives and keep moving down the field.

While Burrow doesn't always tuck and run, there's evidence to prove that he'll take off and extend plays, including back at LSU in the National Championship game where he became one of only two quarterbacks to throw for 250+ yards, rush for 50+, and score a rushing touchdown. The other was Vince Young.

The Rams' defense is dominant at getting to the quarterback. They rank 3rd in sack rate despite ranking 23rd in blitz rate, so they don't need to send extra players to generate a heavier pass rush. However, they are very much league average (15th-worst) at allowing opposing rushing yards to quarterbacks. Burrow will have room to operate and run for gains if he wants to, but that's the only thing stopping him from surpassing this over.

PICK: Joe Burrow OVER 11.5 Rushing Yards (-125)
