Joel Embiid Expected to Put Up Monster Stats Against Celtics
Joel Embiid is back.
He only played 28 minutes on Saturday in his return from a knee injury, but he showed no ill effects, torching Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves to the tune of 24 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocks.
He sat again on Sunday, but that was just a precaution on the second half of a back-to-back set. He should be full-go against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday.
He's not expected to have any trouble against Robert Williams and the Celtics either.
WynnBET has Embiid favored for a near-30-point double-double in this one. His scoring prop is set at over/under 27.5 points (a full 5 points higher than anyone else in the game), and he's a -130 favorite to go over 10.5 rebounds. That means Veags expects him to have 11 or more boards. Add in an over/under of 2.5 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.5 blocks (with -190 odds on the over), and he's projected to really stuff the stat-sheet here.
That's not going to surprise Sixers fans, either.
After all, who can forget his back-to-back games against Boston in June? Both of those were 30-point double-doubles as well.
He torched the C's for 42 points and 10 boards in an 8-point win on Jan. 20. Two days later, he went off for 38 points and 11 boards.
Projected to be led by a monster game from Embiid, Philly is a 1.5-point road favorite over Boston on Tuesday.
