John Deere Classic Odds: 3 Players Who Can Win This Week
The PGA Tour heads to TPC Deere Run in Illinois this week for the John Deere Classic.
With most of the top golfers in the world heading over to Europe to prepare for the Open Championship, this week’s field is one of the weaker fields that we’ll see on the PGA Tour schedule. In fact, only five players ranked inside the world’s top-50 will be competing at this week’s event.
While the event doesn’t exactly have any big name stars which will keep a lot of casual golf fans from tuning in, it’s good news for us bettors as it means there will be a ton of value bets on the board.

Three Picks to Win the John Deere Classic
Kevin Streelman +2250
Kevin Streelman has quietly been in fantastic form recently on the PGA Tour. Before a missed cut at last week’s Travelers Championship, Streelman finished T15 at the US Open, T13 at the Memorial, T20 at the Charles Schwab Challenge and T8 at the PGA Championship.
The 42-year old has also enjoyed success at TPC Deere Run in past years. In eight starts at the John Deere Classic, Streelman has three top 10 finishes including a seventh place finish in his last start in 2018.
He also ranks high in a few key stats heading into this week, including 33rd in strokes gained: approach and T47 in birdie average.
Finally, Streelman has historically succeeded at events that take place in the Midwest. He ranks first in the field in total strokes gained at Midwest events since 2018.
Of the names that are in the top 10 of the odds list to win this week’s event, Streelman presents the best value.
Hank Lebioda +5000
While TPC Deere Run is considered one of the easiest tracks on the PGA Tour schedule, an interesting twist to it that not many people realize is that it has some of the more treacherous rough. Fairways are easier to hit, approach shots are shorter than most, but golfers struggle slightly more out of the rough than they do at the average PGA Tour course.
That means that we should take a look at the stat called ‘Rough Proximity’, which shows us the average distance to the hole the golfers have left after hitting their approach shot from the rough.
Enter Hank Lebioda, who enters this week ranking fifth on the PGA Tour this season in rough proximity.
Not only that, but he’s been in fantastic form recently with two-straight top five finishes and top 20 finishes in four of his last six starts. With a weaker field set for this week, it could be the perfect time for him to capture his first win on Tour.
Satoshi Kodaira +15000
It’s always tough to justify betting on someone with longer than 100/1 odds, as there’s usually a good reason why they’re a longshot. For Satoshi Kodaira, you can find those reasons if you throw out the first half of the 2021 season and just focus on how he’s performed lately.
The Japanese golfer has three top 20 finishes in his last five starts, including a T11 finish at the highly competitive Wells Fargo Championship.
While a lot of his season-long stats are spoiled from a rough start to the season, there are a lot of promising signs. He ranks 68th in strokes gained: putting and T69 in birdie average. With this event hosting a weak field, he likely ranks in the top 20 in the event in both of those key stats.
If you don’t feel like betting on a 150/1 longshot to win the event, he’s also available at WynnBET to finish in the top 10 at +1000.
