Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor had a strong rookie season, rushing for 1,169 yards, but he has his sights set on more in the 2021 season.

"It really primed me, catapulted me into the offseason, understanding that that's going to be the expectations now from my coaches and teammates," Taylor said of his strong end to his rookie season. "You put those things on film. They say your film is your resume. So now that my teammates are expecting it out of me, my coaches are catapulting me into the offseason to continue working and training to try and come into this training camp being able to be prepared and pick up where I left off."

Taylor ran for 741 yards over his final six games including a 253-yard performance in Week 17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars

This season, WynnBET expects Taylor to once again find himself in the conversation to lead the NFL in rushing, as he is third on the odds list at +800. Only Derrick Henry (+225) and Dalvin Cook (+500) have better odds than Taylor.

The Colts had a major scare when Carson Wentz went down to a foot injury, but now that he is reportedly on track to play in Week 1, it should provide a huge boost to the Colts offense.

Taylor, a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, walked into a major role after Marlon Mack was injured last season. While Mack is back, along with Nyheim Hines, Taylor still figures to be the leader in the backfield.

Playing in the AFC South with the Jaguars and the lowly Houston Texans should give Taylor plenty of chances to rack up major rushing yards totals, like he did last year. Taylor put up 174 yards in two games against Houston a year ago and the monster 253-yard game against the Jags.

Understandably, bettors should be wary about Taylor’s workload in the first few weeks, but if he averages more than the 15.5 attempts per game he had as a rookie, the sky's the limit for his potential.
