Josh Allen Allen Should Be MVP Favorite, Not Kyler Murray
Kyler Murray has dazzled NFL fans this season with his play. He has the Cardinals at 5-0 with 1,512 passing yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s been fantastic.
WynnBET has Murray tied with Justin Herbert as the favorite to win the MVP with +400 odds. While Murray has a legitimate claim in the conversation, he shouldn’t be the favorite.
That honor should go to Josh Allen.
Allen just went into Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday Night Football and outdueled Patrick Mahomes. If Murray did that, we would’ve locked up the award and handed it to him that night.
Allen isn’t extremely far from Murray, with his odds set at +500. However, if Allen isn’t the favorite after that performance then the system is flawed.
Murray did the same thing last season. He started hot and then began to slowly decline throughout the year. Meanwhile, Allen -- similar to this year -- got better as the season continued.
Buffalo looks like the best team in the AFC and Allen is the reason for that. He has 1,370 passing yards to go along with 12 touchdowns and only two interceptions. Allen is also averaging seven carries per game. Everything the Bills do runs through him and the odds should accurately reflect that.
Allen will play another AFC contender this week when the Bills take on the Titans. If he dominates for a second straight week, he needs to be the favorite.
The loss against Pittsburgh wasn’t the best look, but it was the first week of the season and Allen has more than made up for that performance. He’s rising and so are the Bills. The only thing left is for his odds to follow suit.
