Josh Allen vs. Carson Wentz: Who Will Throw For More Yards?
By Reed Wallach
Carson Wentz and the Indianapolis Colts travel to Buffalo to face the Bills, who are led by the betting favorite for MVP Josh Allen.
WynnBET Sportsbook has set odds for each player's passing yard prop; can Wentz outshine the MVP candidate on Sunday with the Colts needing a big performance to stay in the playoff hunt?
Let's check out the odds and see if there's any value?
Josh Allen Passing Yards: 289.5 Yards (Over -125/Under -115)
While Allen passed for 366 yards last Sunday against the lowly Jets, he has gone over this number in particular just once in four games at home this season.
With weather always a factor in Western New York, and the Colts inside the top 10 in explosive pass defense, I'm siding with the under.
I can see this game being more of a rock fight as each team looks to outmuscle the other, leading to less explosive passes than Allen has become accustomed to.
Carson Wentz Passing Yards: 222.5 (Over -115/Under -125)
Wentz has gone way over this number and way under this total, so I believe this one is just right. Again, weather is always a factor in Bills home games, and I expect head coach Frank Reich to look to the ground to keep the ball away from Josh Allen throughout most of the game.
However, I can't back the under given how low this total is. Wentz has passed for more than this prop seven times already this season. Despite the success of the Bills defense this season, No. 1 in EPA/Pass this season, I can't go under.
