Justin Fields Does Not Have Broken Ribs, Remains Questionable for Bears vs. Lions on Thanksgiving
By Ben Heisler
The Chicago Bears had a bad day get worse on Sunday after losing rookie quarterback Justin Fields to a rib injury midway through the third quarter. Fields ended up going to the hospital later in the afternoon to get both his ribs and spleen evaluated out following the injury.
Then, after Andy Dalton connected with Marquise Goodwin on a 49-yard touchdown pass on 4th and 11 to take a 13-9 lead late in the 4th quarter, Baltimore (-2 after opening at -6.5) somehow came back in devastating fashion for Bears fans. Devonta Freeman pushed in the dagger with a 3-yard TD run with 0:22 seconds left; giving the Ravens a 16-13 a victory and completing the comeback without star quarterback Lamar Jackson and top wideout Marquise "Hollywood" Brown.
Dalton, to his credit, provided the only offense for the Bears on Sunday, throwing for 201 yards on 11 of 23 passing with 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
With the Bears turning around a short week to take on the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving at 12:30 p.m ET at Ford Field, bettors and fans alike want to know if Fields will be able to give it a go less than five days from suffering the injury.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Fields' initial tests revealed that none of Fields' ribs were broken in Sunday's loss, making his return to the field a distinct possibility on Thursday.
