Justin Herbert has been living in the gym. The Chargers’ second-year quarterback was photographed during minicamp, and it is clear that Herbert has put on some serious muscle in the offseason.

Even without the muscle, Herbert is coming off a great rookie season. He won Offensive Rookie of the Year after throwing for 4,336 yards, 31 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions. Herbert was mobile, accurate and by the looks of it, Los Angeles has its quarterback of the future.

After his outstanding rookie campaign, Herbert is expected to follow it up with an encore performance. WynnBET has him tied with Kyler Murray for the 10th-shortest odds to win MVP this season at +2000 (bet $100 to profit $2000).

Even though he was the No. 6 overall pick, Herbert’s performance in 2020 was a shock to many. He came into the season as the backup to Tyrod Taylor, but became the starter in Week 2 after Taylor suffered a punctured lung while receiving treatment.

Under Herbert, the Chargers went 7-9 and finished third in the AFC West. Despite the progression by Herbert, WynnBET still doesn’t see the Chargers overtaking the Chiefs in the division. Los Angeles has +450 odds to win the AFC West, second to Kansas City which is the overwhelming favorite at -350.

Herbert has high expectations in 2021, but with a new head coach, a year of experience, and a new body, he can certainly live up to the hype.
