It’s no secret that the Los Angeles Chargers are putting all of their faith into Justin Herbert. He showed over the course of last season that he can be trusted with the keys to the franchise. Herbert threw for 4,336 yards last season, and that number is only going up, according to the oddsmakers.

WynnBET has released odds for the passing yards leader and the rushing yards leader and it's no surprise that the Chargers are expected to have an air-raid offense in 2021. Herbert has the sixth-best odds to lead the league in yards at +1200.

He is sandwiched between Tom Brady (+900) and Aaron Rodgers (+1500). For a second year quarterback, that’s not a bad place to be.

Along with Herbert being high on the yards list, Austin Ekeler isn’t getting much love on the rushing yards list. Ekeler has +15000 odds to lead the league in rushing and has low odds for good reason.

Ekeler has never ran for 600 yards before, but he has caught 900 yards in a season before. He is a pass-catching back through and through. Ekeler does most of his work through the air, which gives Herbert all the more control in the offense.

None of this is unexpected. Last season, the Chargers were tied with the Atlanta Falcons for the fourth-most passing attempts per game (39.2). New head coach Brandon Staley also said that in this new offense, Herbert will be the clear-cut leader.

"I wanted our offense to run through Justin Herbert, Staley said. “I wanted him to make it work and I think that's what's been fun to sort of get started."

Herbert and Ekeler are primed to have a dominant season through the air, especially with Herbert taking control in 2021.
