With training camps about to start, it’s time to start looking to the futures market for some props. FanDuel has released odds for who will lead the NFL in passing yards.

Right now, Justin Herbert is the favorite at +700. He’s followed by Tom Brady, Matthew Stafford and Patrick Mahomes, who’s odds are +800. Derek Carr and Dak Prescott round out the top 5 with +1100.

Outside of Prescott, the top 5 players in the odds this season finished in the top 5 of the passing yards. All these quarterbacks have a good chance to win the passing title, but there’s one that I’m picking above the rest.

I’m backing Justin Herbert to lead the league in passing yards. Herbert is one of the best young quarterbacks in the league and he’s consistently among the top quarterbacks when it comes to passing yards. He was 6th his rookie season and rose all the way up to the second spot last year.

This year, with all of his weapons coming back, Herbert is set to have an MVP-type season.

The one player I’ll fade with ease out of the top five is Tom Brady. He won’t have Antonio Brown or Rob Gronkowski this season and will be without Chris Godwin – who is recovering from an ACL tear. The Buccaneers’ offense is going to look significantly different in 2022 than it has the previous two seasons.

Patrick Mahomes, the best quarterback in the game, is an interesting pick. Tyreek Hill is in Miami now, so seeing just how much his departure will affect the Chiefs’ offense is going to be intriguing.

Overall, I think Herbert has the best set of weapons of the players in the top 5 and will likely be asked to carry his team the most.
