The Kansas State Wildcats are on the road today facing off against their Big 12 rival, the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Wildcats have turned around a very poor start to conference play by winning four of their last five in the Big 12 and climbing into fifth place in the conference with a 6-7 record. The Wildcats have one of the toughest ends to the season with No. 6 Kansas and No. 11 Texas Tech left to play.

This means that if the Wildcats are able to finish strong they have a shot to make it to the NCAA tournament. They aren’t a great team and will not have an easy road, but there is a path to the dance for the Wildcats.

Here are the odds for this Big 12 brawl, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State Prediction and Pick

These two teams match up quite well which leaves me scratching my head a little at this spread. I agree that OKState has a leg up, but the advantage is slight. That advantage for the Cowboys mainly lies with their offense that ranks 1945h in the nation. While not great, it is a decent amount better than the Wildcats 237th ranked offense that scores less than 68 points per game.

It's not the offenses that I am interested in here as much, as it’s the difference between the two defenses. While the Wildcats defense ranks an impressive 38th in the nation in total scoring, the Cowboys defense allows almost 67 points per game and ranks 94th in the country. They are 237th in total defensive rebounds and 303rd in total offensive rebounds by opponents.

On top of having a much better defense, the Wildcats have been a much better ATS team. As underdogs on the road, the Wildcats are 6-1 ATS and have outright won four of their last six games as road dogs. For comparison, as home favorites, the Cowboys are 4-7 ATS and 4-7-1 coming off a loss.

Pick: Kansas State +155 to win
