A few weeks ago this would have been another great Big 12 Top 25 matchup, but the Baylor Bears dropped a thriller to West Virginia and the Kansas Jayhawks lost their quarterback and then their ranking in back-to-back weeks. Kansas is 5-2 after losing a shootout to Oklahoma last week.

Just because these teams don’t have numbers next to their names doesn’t mean we won’t have an exciting and important Big 12 football game on our hands. Vegas couldn’t be more off Kansas, even at home, so let’s check out the odds.

Kansas vs. Baylor Odds, Spread and Total

Baylor and Kansas Betting Trends

  • Kansas is 6-0-1 ATS this year
  • Baylor is 3-3 ATS this year
  • Baylor is 20-4-2 ATS in last 26 following an ATS loss
  • Favorite is 12-1 ATS in last 13 meetings
  • Kansas is 0-6 ATS last six meetings

Kansas vs. Baylor Prediction and Pick

Jalon Daniels was becoming the star of the college football world this year as Kansas got off to its 5-0 start, but they are 0-2 with him out. One injury shouldn’t completely sink this team that looked so good.

Jason Bean started against Oklahoma and certainly wasn’t the reason that Kansas lost that game. Bean went 16-for-27 for 265 yards, and four touchdowns, but did have two interceptions. The Jayhawks offense put up 42 points in the 52-42 loss.

It’s the 95th ranked defense that is Kansas’s problem. They are 125th against the pass which means Blake Shapen will be licking his lips, if he can make it onto the field Saturday. Shapen had to leave against WVU with a concussion and it is unclear if he will start this week.

After Shapen left, Kyron Drones went 7-for-14 for 95 yards, one TD and a pick. If Drones does have to start it will be a great spot for the freshman against this Kansas secondary.

It might be two backup QBs, and the under might be 3-1-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams, but I’m not scared off the over. Baylor’s pass defense is 72nd in the country and the Bears are 54th in total D. Bean and Drones will both have big days and we’ll get another classic Big 12 shootout.

Pick: Over 58 (-107)
