Kansas vs. Kansas State Prediction and Odds for College Football Week 13 (Wildcats Punch Big 12 Ticket in Style)
By Reed Wallach
Kansas State has handled quarterback injuries with ease this season, winning the past two games with backup Will Howard in place of the banged up Adrian Martinez.
It will be Howard again on Saturday as the Kansas State Wildcats are into the Big 12 Championship game against TCU with a win against in-state rival Kansas. The Jayhawks have exceeded expectations this season, making a bowl game, but are fresh off a 55-14 loss to Texas.
How should we handicap this finale? Let's dig in:
Kansas vs. Kansas State Odds, Spread and Total
Kansas vs. Kansas State Betting Trends
- Kansas State is 8-3 against the spread (ATS) this season and 6-1 as a favorite
- Kansas is 6-3-2 ATS this seaso, but all three non covers have come as underdogs
- Kansas has gone OVER in all five road games and six of eight games as an underdog
- Kansas State has gone UNDER in five of seven games as a favorite
Kansas vs. Kansas State Prediction and Pick
It's very important to scoreboard watch before placing a bet on this game. If Texas beats Baylor on Friday afternoon, Kansas State needs to win Saturday to lock up a spot in the Big 12 Championship Game. If Baylor beats Texas, this game is meaningless to the Wildcats big picture wise.
If motivation is high, I expect the Wildcats ground attack to overpower the Kansas defense. The Wildcats have one of the most dynamic running backs in the country in Deuce Vaughn, who averages more than five yards per carry on 220 of them. He will be going up against a KU rush defense that is 114th in EPA/Play and should have a field day on the ground.
It's been a great season for the Jayhawks, but think they are running into a far better team at home who is looking to build up some momentum ahead of a title game next week, I'll lay it with KSU.
