Mid-Atlantic Conference rivals Central Michigan and Kent State clash in Week 11. The Chippewas are 5-4 and opened as three-point home favorites over the Golden Flashes.

Kent State currently leads the MAC East with a 5-4 record over the Miami (OH) RedHawks. This will be a great week for the Golden Flashes to gain ground with the RedHawks facing a tough Buffalo Bulls team this week.

Central Michigan is second in the MAC West but tied with two other teams in the Division. The Ball State Cardinals and Eastern Michigan Eagles also have 3-2 records in the MAC West and create a bit of a logjam behind the NIU Huskies. One thing that the Chippewas have going for them is that the Cardinals and Huskies play this week and a loss to the Cardinals will make it a two-team race for second place.

Kent State vs Central Michigan Prediction and Pick

Kent State had one of the best quarters in football this year last week. In the second quarter of its game against NIU, Kent State reeled off 31-points en-route to an impressive 52-47 win last Wednesday. The win snapped a 10-game losing streak to their MAC rivals and helped them remain atop the MAC East.

The Golden Flashes finished the day with seven total touchdowns and moved the ball very fast against a strong NIU team.

Dustin Crum passed for 322 yards and rushed for an additional 72 yards to help lead his team to win and cover as 3.5 point favorites.

Central Michigan, Led by some special teams magic from Kalil Pimpleton, beat up on Western Michigan 42-30. Pimpleton scored three total touchdowns, one 11-yard rush, and two long punt returns. In total, Pimpleton had 269 all-purpose yards in the game.

While it was an impressive performance, I think two kick return touchdowns is something we can’t expect to happen again. I consider this an impressive fluke that could have been the only reason this team won last week.

While CMU looked good against WMU, Kent State looked better in their win over NIU. I think it takes that momentum and put it to good use in this game as FG underdogs.

Prediction: Kent State +3.0 (-110)
