Kings vs. Oilers Prediction and Odds (Picking this Massive Pacific Division Showdown)
By Matt De Saro
The Los Angeles Kings and Houston Oilers are locked in a playoff race in the Pacific Division and face off tonight at Rogers Place. The interesting thing about these two teams is they have both been playing rather poorly lately. It’s almost as if neither one wants the second spot in the division.
The Oilers, who currently rank third in the division, have lost three of their last five and seven of their last 15. They are coming off a win, but it was against the painfully bad Coyotes. They lost 9-5 to Calgary the game prior. In a similar fashion, the Kings are 4-6 in their last 10 games. Their most recent loss came to 8th place Seattle Kraken.
The Kings currently hold a two-point lead in the standings but injuries are mounting and the Oilers might be able to make up some ground at home.

Kings vs. Oilers Prediction and Pick
While the season has been good for the Kings overall, I worry things are about to collapse. This is due in large part to mounting injuries. On the blue line, the Kings will be without Mikey Anderson, Drew Doughty, Matt Roy, and Sean Walker. On the offense, Andreas Athanasiou, Dustin Brown, Brendan Lemieux, and Blake Lizotte. The Kings are deep, but even they can only deal with so many losses at once. They are still treading water, but in real danger of falling down the playoff ladder if they keep losing.
Edmonton got close to falling out of the playoff race earlier in March but did manage to fight back. They aren’t playing great, but good enough to keep pace with the Kings right now. They are now 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and can take over sole possession of the Pacific Division with a win.
The road team has won each of the last two games between these two, but I don’t see it going that way tonight. The Kings are hobbled and trending down, while the Oilers are playing better and have a lot to earn from this win.
Pick: Oilers -1.5 (+120)
