Knicks vs. Nets Prediction and Odds for Wednesday, November 9 (Knicks Can Hang With Brooklyn)
By Peter Dewey
The New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets renew their rivalry for the first time in the 2022-23 season on Wednesday night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The Nets have won seven straight matchups against the Knicks, but five of those matchups have been decided by five points or fewer. So, we should be in for a barnburner on Wednesday.
Brooklyn is coming off a loss against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, but it is a perfect 3-0 against the spread since suspending Kyrie Irving.
The Knicks, led by Julius Randle’s eight 3-pointers, blew out the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday to get back to .500 on the season, and become the definition of average.
With Irving still out for the Nets, how should we bet on this game? Here are the latest odds:

Even though the Nets have looked better over the last week, I think the Knicks are in a favorable spot as underdogs in this game.
New York is without starting center Mitchell Robinson, but the Nets don’t play any crazy big lineups, which could allow New York to turn to its best combination down low: Obi Toppin and Randle playing together.
The Knicks dominated the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday with this duo, and they used it again on Monday against Minnesota.
These teams are pretty even on the season, with New York ranking 16th in net rating and the Nets coming in at No. 17 in the league. However, the Nets are just 22nd in defensive rating this season, and it’s been their Achilles heel for most of this season.
While Brooklyn has looked better without Kyrie, these two teams are even enough where I think the Knicks can win as short dogs. I’ll gladly take the 2.5 points as well in a matchup that should feel like a home game for New York.
