Lakers vs. Clippers Prediction and Odds (Value on Total in Back-to-Back for Lakers)
By Peter Dewey
LeBron James is dealing with swelling in his knee, and the Los Angeles Lakers are just 1-3 over their last four games without him in the lineup.
Los Angeles isn’t going to rush James back into the lineup, so it’s hard to see him playing tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Anthony Davis has stepped up with James out, but the Lakers narrowly defeated a struggling Portland Trail Blazers team on Wednesday. Davis, who is coming off an injury of his own, could be sitting on the second game of a back-to-back, so how should we bet this matchup?
Here are the odds via WynnBET:

Spread:
- Lakers: +3.5 (-110)
- Clippers: -3.5 (-110)

Total:
- 220.5 (Over -110/Under -110)
Lakers vs. Clippers Prediction and Pick
The Lakers have gone just 22-30 against the spread this season, but they are slightly better as an underdog, going 9-9 ATS.
The Clippers, on the other hand, are 26-27 ATS on the season but just 12-16 ATS as a favorite.
This game is going to come down to Davis’ status, as he’s been playing well enough to carry Los Angeles to a win against this Clippers team with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard out.
If Davis plays, I’ll lean with Los Angeles as an underdog, but I think there is some value on the total here as well. Both of these teams are in the bottom eight in the NBA in offensive rating, and while the Lakers play at a fast pace, they’ve gone under 220.5 points in four of their last six games.
There may be tired legs, and players sitting out, on a back-to-back, so don’t be surprised if this is a low-scoring affair.
Lean: Lakers-Clippers UNDER 220.5 (-110)
