Lamar Jackson Prop Bets: How to Bet Ravens Quarterback Post Bye vs. Vikings
By Thomas Snodgrass
The Baltimore Ravens didn’t play too great prior to their Week 8 bye, getting bashed by the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. Despite the low number of points produced by the Ravens, quarterback Lamar Jackson still moved the ball down the field, throwing for 257 yards and rushing for 88 more.
Now rested off its bye week, Baltimore will face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 9.
The Minnesota Vikings have been up and down on defense this season, but mostly down. The Vikings lost to the Cooper Rush-led Dallas Cowboys in Week 8, and only held the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns to less than 20 points this season. The Vikings have been giving up chunks of points in nearly every game, and will struggle to keep the Ravens out of the endzone this week.
That’s good news for Lamar Jackson, and everyone that intends to bet on him.
WynnBET Sportsbook has set Jackson’s passing yards prop at 245.5 yards (Over: -125/Under: -115) and his passing touchdowns prop at 1.5 (Over: -150/Under: +110).
Minnesota is in the middle of the pack on passing defense, allowing 246.1 passing yards per game. But Cooper Rush threw for 325 yards against the Vikings last week, so there are some holes in this Vikings defensive secondary.
Lamar Jackson is averaging 277.6 passing yards per game, and with his ability to move the football on the ground, his rushing success has overshadowed how effective he can be through the air. Jackson should be able to hit the over on his 245.5 yard passing prop.
Minnesota has only allowed three quarterbacks to throw for at least two touchdowns in a game this season, but in the last four weeks they have faced Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns, Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions, Sam Darnold of the Carolina Panthers, and Cooper Rush of the Cowboys; Rush being the only one to throw two touchdowns against the Vikings in the last four games.
Jackson is favored to throw two touchdowns this week, and it makes sense considering that Minnesota has not faced the NFL’s most intimidating quarterbacks in recent weeks.
WynnBET Sportsbook also has Jackson’s rushing yards prop set at 64.5 yards (Over -115/Under -115). Jackson is averaging 68.6 rushing yards per game this season and will look for gaps in a Vikings defense that is allowing 120.9 rushing yards per game (20th in the NFL).
If Darnold can run for 48 yards against Minnesota, which he did, then Jackson should be able to get 70 rushing yards this week. Jackson has run for more than 64.5 yards three times this season.
After the drubbing that Baltimore took last week, this could be a good buy low opportunity on Jackson and the Ravens.
