Las Vegas Bowl: Arizona State vs. Wisconsin Prediction and Odds
By Matt De Saro
The Big Ten and Pac–12 face off in the Las Vegas Bowl when the Arizona State Sun Devils and Wisconsin Badgers clash on Thursday evening.
The Sun Devils come in hot off a big win over Arizona 38-15 in their last game. The win left them with an 8-4 record on the year and the Sun Devils were briefly ranked after beating UCLA in Week 5.
Wisconsin was also a ranked team during the regular season but fell out of the top-25 in their final week following a 23-13 loss to Minnesota. The loss broke the Badgers’ seven-game winning streak and ended their season on a sour note.

Arizona State vs. Wisconsin Prediction and Pick
In order to come away with a win here, Wisconsin must continue playing tight defense as they have all year. The Badgers allow just 16.4 points per game and rank among the best defenses in the nation. They are top-5 in yards allowed per game, yards allowed per play, and opponent third-down conversions. Their 77th ranked offense could play a bit better but scores enough to keep the Badgers winning. However, they do struggle to cover games and are 6-6 ATS on the year. They do fare better as favorites with a 3-1 ATS mark in such games.
The Sun Devils are also a defense-first team and are 24th in points allowed and 19th in opponent yards surrendered. Their offense is also quite good but will be without starting running back Rashaad White in the Las Vegas Bowl. White, who ended the season with 1,006 yards and 15 touchdowns, chose to skip this game as he prepares for the NFL Draft. White joins Jermayne Lole and Travez Moore as healthy scratches for this game.
With the Sun Devils heading into this game without their best player, it is hard to see their offense making much of an impact here. The Badgers' defense is just too good and should handle this one-dimensional offense with relative ease.
Pick: Wisconsin Badgers -5.5 (-110)
