The Titans have predictably faded since star running back Derrick Henry broke his foot six weeks ago, but they just got a great piece of news which should buoy them short term and make them a dangerous team come playoff time.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Henry could return to the field as early as Week 18 and is in line to return for the playoffs, if the Titans make it. That seemed like a guarantee before Henry got hurt, as the Titans were 6-2 and in first place in the AFC. But they've gone 2-2 since he went down and face a critical game against the Jaguars today. The Titans, coming off their bye, are 9-point favorites in that game at WynnBET.

Henry is in line to return for the playoffs if Tennessee makes it in -- or potentially Week 18 if the Titans face a win-and-in situation.

The Titans are still the No. 2 seed in the AFC and lead the AFC South by two games in the loss column over the 7-6 Colts. They're +1000 to win the AFC at WynnBET and +2200 to win the Super Bowl. Those are solid odds considering the Titans have the easiest schedule in the NFL to close out their season.

Outside of today's game against Jacksonville, the Titans also have another game against the lowly Texans on their schedule and another against the sub-.500 Dolphins. They also have games against the Steelers and 49ers, which could easily be two more wins.

Still, I'm not betting them to win the AFC or Super Bowl. Even if Henry returns, it's going to take him a few games to get his conditioning up. Unfortunately, they don't have that kind of time.

If you took the Titans to win the AFC South before the season, you should feel good. But no need to chase a bet on them to win the AFC or Super Bowl. It ain't happening.
