Leicester City vs. Manchester United Prediction and Odds for Matchweek 8
By Thomas Snodgrass
Leicester City has struggled to pick up a win recently, losing two and drawing two in its last four matches. In the last match prior to the international break, Leicester found themselves in a 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park with Crystal Palace.
Leicester took a 2-0 lead going into the half on goals from forwards Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho, but Crystal Palace would pepper in shots on goalie Kasper Schmeichel, outshooting Leicester 18 to nine, and picking up two second half goals to square the match.
Meanwhile, Manchester United has picked up a draw with Everton and tough home loss to Aston Villa in its recent two game lull, but received positive news with the return of midfielder Paul Pogba this week.
Against Everton on Oct. 2nd, forward Anthony Martial gave Man U the lead just before the half, and despite holding possession for 72 percent over Everton’s 28 percent, Everton tied the match in the 61st minute.
Manchester United (4-2-1) currently sit at fourth in the standings with 14 points and Leicester (2-2-3) sits at 13th with eight points.

Leicester City vs. Manchester United Prediction and Pick
While Manchester United sees the return of Paul Pogba, they will be without forward Edinson Cavani and midfielder Fred. Manchester United will hope to see forward Marcus Rashford be healthy in this match, as he will be needed with 36-year old Cristiano Ronaldo as the potential man up front on the offensive attack in manager Old Gunnar Solskjaer’s 4-2-3-1 formation.
Leicester has gone with a 4-4-2 setup, but could shift to a 4-3-3 in this match in an effort to keep up with Manchester United on the offensive push.
While Manchester United will welcome the return of Pogba and Rashford, who knows the impact their returns will have? They were already struggling to get over the hump in their last few games and now they will add in roster changes and potential lineup formation switches.
Leicester has fallen back since it won the Premier League title in 2015-16, but Vardy and Iheanacho are a solid one-two striking unit that should be able to get one past Man U goalie David de Gea.
Manchester United is the favorite, but I think there will be a 2-1 upset victory for the Foxes at King Power Stadium in Leicester.
I’m taking Leicester City on the three-way moneyline at +240.
