The Cleveland Browns, as is the case with most teams, have a number of big decisions to make during the offseason. One of the big calls is what to do with veteran wide receiver Jarvis Landry. Jarvis seems aware of the quandary his team is in and tweeted out this morning that the ball remains in Cleveland's court. He mentioned that he was excited to have been on this team but suffered an early injury that ruined his season after he came back way too early and stayed hurt for the year. In a bit of an honest moment, Landry also stated that he lacked the confidence to say that he will be better and healthier this year or moving forward. While he wants to stay with the Browns, he has said he is open to “helping do my part in winning a championship elsewhere.”

Nagging injuries aside, the 29-year-old is in his prime and can be helpful to the Browns or any other team if he can stay healthy and motivated. He had a down year to be sure, with just 52 catches for 570 yards and just two touchdowns. But, I think he’s a candidate for an improved player of the year award next season no matter where he winds up. With that in mind, I wanted to set some hypothetical odds for Landry’s next landing spot.

Odds for Jarvis Landry’s next team

  • Tennessee Titans +300
  • Green Bay Packers +500
  • Cleveland Browns +800

Titans +300

While no team has yet to be officially linked to Landry, the Titans make sense as a betting favorite because he fits so well in this program. With Julio Jones under contract until the end of the 2024 season, this could create a logjam at WR with A.J. Brown the clear lead. But, Jones hasn’t been the model of health lately and the Titans need a more reliable option to limit the double coverage that Brown has to endure.

Green Bay Packers +500

This ranking is contingent on Aaron Rodgers sticking around, which is still a real possibility. If he does, the Packers really need to find some quality players for him to throw to. I mean, the guy is coming off back-to-back MVP awards in his late 30s with a group of very unproven receivers in general. Davante Adams aside, this team needs a lot of help in the receiving game. Help that Landry can provide.

Cleveland Browns +1500

This may seem a bit extreme but I have my reasons for making Brown such an underdog here. First off, Landry has one year left on his contract at $15.05 million. The Browns could save every penny of that money if they just outright cut him before Jun. 1. Another hint that this decision has already been made was a quote by the Browns GM Andrew Berry when addressing the media after the end of the regular season.  Berry said things like thanking Landry for his contribution and what he “has meant” to this franchise over the last few years and that he “has been a productive player.” Maybe it’s just me, but the tone and the words he used sounded more like a fond farewell than just run-of-the-mill praise. Cleveland needs a number one receiver and with OBJ gone, I think it’s clear that Landry is not the answer.
