Lightning vs. Avalanche Prediction and Odds for Game 4 of Stanley Cup Final (Kucherov's Status up in the Air)
By Matt De Saro
The Tampa Bay Lightning showed the world why they are the two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions last night with a 6-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in Game 3. After going down 0-2 in the series the Lightning were down, but clearly not out.
I know that the Lightning are all-time good, but after losing Game 2 7-0, I thought this might be a rare sweep in the Stanley Cup Finals. Now, heading into Game 4 in Colorado on Wednesday, what can we expect?
Here are the odds for tonight’s matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Lightning vs. Avalanche Prediction and Pick
The Lightning gave it their all in victory last night, but some guys may have pushed a bit too hard to get there. This led to several injuries for Tampa Bay that will absolutely hinder their chances at a repeat performance in Game 4.
The most notable injury was to Nikita Kucherov who let in the third period after getting cross-checked from behind by Devon Toews. Additionally, Nick Paul was injured in the first period and the Lightning were already without Brayden Point for Game 3. If Kucherov misses time, the Lightning’s lines will need to be adjusted along with the entire game plan.
Corey Perry also spent some time on the bench after getting shaken up but is expected to be ready to go on Wednesday.
Considering the injury issues that the Avalanche have right now, I struggle to trust them to back up last night’s performance. The Avs have a great chance here to send the game back to Colorado with a commanding 3-1 lead.
It’s never easy to bet against Tampa Bay in the playoffs, but the Lightning are not even close to full strength right now. If Kucherov misses this game, they will have to rely on Pat Maroon and Nick Paul to carry the offense and I don’t see that happening.
Pick: Avalanche -110
