Every week of the NFL season, the schedule will have at least one or two complete toilet bowl matchups. One of those in Week 4 will be the Detroit Lions taking on the Chicago Bears.

No disrespect to fans of either of these teams.

One of the best ways to make these garbage games more entertaining is by betting on them. In my opinion, it’s one of the best things about sports betting.

The Lions will enter the game 0-3, but they had a shot at winning all three games. They almost completed a miraculous comeback against the 49ers in Week 1, they were beating the Packers at halftime in Week 2 on Monday Night Football, and they lost to the Ravens on a last-second, record-breaking 66 year field goal in Week 3.

The Bears have a win on their record, but they boast the worst offense in the NFL, averaging only 3.3 yards per play through the first three weeks of the season. That's disgustingly bad.

Matt Nagy has yet to declare a starting quarterback for this NFC North matchup, as he told media on Monday morning that all three quarterbacks on their roster will be in consideration for the start in Week 4.

Lions vs Bears Prediction and Pick

I’m going to back the Lions at +3 in this game, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they get their first win of the season.

52.70% of the offensive yards gained by the Bears has come on the ground, which is the highest mark in the NFL, but that’s exactly where the Lions strengths lay in defense. They shut down the Ravens rushing attack in Week 3, and did the same to the Packers in Week 2.

The way to beat the Lions is through the air, as they’re giving up 9.6 yards per pass attempt which is last in the NFL. It’s too bad for Chicago that the Bears have the worst passing attack in the NFL, averaging a measly 90.7 passing yards per game.

The Bears are in turmoil, and I have no idea what Matt Nagy is doing with that team. Give me the Lions and the points in Week 3.
