Maybe there isn’t a quarterback controversy in Dallas? Cooper Rush came crashing back down to earth in Week 6 as the Dallas Cowboys fell to 4-2, now it will be Dak Prescott’s team in Week 7 against the Detroit Lions (1-4) coming off their bye week.

Lions vs. Cowboys Prediction and Pick

Dak Prescott looks like he will be making his return to the field this Sunday in Dallas and the Cowboys should be happy to have him after Cooper Rush finished the game 18-for-38 for 181 yards, one touchdown and three picks in Philadelphia. Now, a really good Cowboys team gets their franchise quarterback back on the field, what could go wrong? Well they could throw the ball too much against the worst run defense in football.

The Lions are allowing 167.6 rush yards per game, 5.5 yards per carry, and have given up 10 touchdowns on the ground. This game should be all about Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard. Dallas is league average in rush yards per game, but they have the offensive line and running backs to run the ball well.

That’s mostly what they have done with Rush at QB and they need to stick to that game plan this week.

The problem is, I don’t think that they will. This is the Cowboys we’re talking about, they will want to showcase Prescott and will probably have him throw the ball forty times to receivers that he hasn’t had a lot of reps with recently.

I know that Detroit is bad, but the Lions are coming off of a bye week and Dallas just played Sunday Night Football in Philadelphia. The Lions have a really good offense, even though they were shut out by New England in Week 5.

The Cowboys will win, but I like the Lions to cover. Right now, the spread is seven and I think it will close around eight or nine points, so I’ll wait to bet this game until Sunday morning, but I do still like Detroit at +7.

Pick: Lions +7 (-107)
