Lions vs. Giants Prediction and Pick
Records aside, these two teams are a lot more similar than you might think. For example, both teams can run the ball effectively, ranking 10th and 11th in yards per carry, but neither team can stop the run, ranking 30th and 32nd in opponent yards per carry.
One big difference, is that the Lions offense as a whole has been a lot more effective. The rank fifth in yards per play, averaging 5.9 yards per snap, while the Giants rank 25th, averaging only 5.1 yards per snap.
Detroit also outranks them offensively in the red zone, ranking fifth in red zone offense while the Giants rank 20th.
Detroit should be able to run the football, move the ball throughout the game, and at least keep this game close. The Giants don't give me a lot of confidence that they can cover a spread of over a field goal.
Give me the points with the Lions.
