Lions vs. Giants Prediction: Saquon Barkley's Rushing OVER Easy Bet Against Poor Rushing Defense
By Josh Yourish
The Detroit Lions have a win-streak going. It’s only two games, but this is the Lions first win streak of any kind since early in the 2020 season. The team also broke a streak of 13-straight road losses by beating Chicago 31-30 last week. Now, they’ll test that win-streak in East Rutherford, New Jersey where they’ll take on the 7-2 New York Football Giants.
Brian Daboll has his team as a near lock for the playoffs through 10 weeks and yet Vegas doesn’t seem to believe in Saquon Barkley and the Giants. Let’s take a look at the odds for this one.

The spread for this game opened with the Giants as 1.5 point favorites and has jumped to 3. The total has held firm at 45.
Lions vs. Giants Prediction and Pick
I recognize that it is hard to believe in Daniel Jones as a playoff quarterback and trust a 7-2 record that isn’t overly convincing, but I don’t understand why this line opened at 1.5 and is now only at 3. Detroit has a functional offense that should be able to score enough to hang around, but Wink Martindale’s defense with the No. 1 blitz rate in the NFL has a chance to rattle Jared Goff.
The issues for Detroit lie on the defensive side of the ball where the Lions have allowed the second most rushing yards per game in the NFL. They give up 5.3 yards per carry and opponents have rushed for 15 touchdowns this season. Saquon Barkely and even Daniel Jones should have a day against this defense. The Giants third in rushing yards per game offensively. That will just be too much for Detroit to overcome if they’re getting gashed on the ground.
Somehow, this New York Giants team led by Daniel Jones and with no talent at wide receiver will be 8-2 after Week 11.
Pick: Giants -3 (-106)
