The Los Angeles Rams are set to host the winless Detroit Lions in Week 7 as a 15.5 point favorite at SoFi stadium. The Rams will look to build upon their 5-1 record and keep the Lions winless in 2021.

In an interesting twist, both starting quarterbacks will be facing off against their former teams. This will be Jared Goff’s first time back in L.A. for a game since being traded to the Lions and, likewise, Matthew Stafford’s first chance to go against the Lions.

The Lions are coming into this game off a brutal 34-11 loss to the Bengals in what has become commonplace for the 0-6 team. Will Goff step up against his former team and help his team score their first W of the year? Or, will Stafford take out his frustrations on his old team in the form of yardage?

Let’s check the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook and make a bet on this Week 7 quarterback showdown in LA.

Lions vs. Rams Prediction and Pick

This is a really tough game for the Lions. I realize that as a winless team, that can be said for any week on the schedule, but I go double in Week 7. With Matthew Stafford playing some of the best football of his career, and some murky feelings about his former team, I think he will be looking to set records against the Lions this weekend.

Even if Stafford has a pedestrian day against his former team, the Lions are so banged up, it’s hard to see them benign able to capitalize in any meaningful way. With 14 players on injured reserve as of Monday afternoon, Dan Campbell’s team is in even rougher shape than usual.

While Stafford has been busy winning NFC Offensive Player of the Week awards, Goff has struggled, to say the least. It is clear which player got the better end of this trade. Goff will have to try and outscore a team that is third-best in point differential in the NFL. The Lions are the worst for those that couldn’t have guessed. The Lions haven’t scored more than 17 points since their opening game while the Rams haven’t had a game where they scored less than 20.

I think the Rams offense straight up bodies this entire Lion defense and sends Detriot tumbling even further into the basement.

Prediction: Los Angeles Rams -15.5 (-110)
