It feels like a Liverpool-Real Madrid Champions League final rematch was inevitable. Even when Real trailed Man City late in their semifinal match, something about Liverpool vs Real in the final just felt right. After all, these two teams thrive in this competition like no others, having won four of the last six titles combined, including their 2018 showdown when Real outclassed Liverpool in a 3-1 win. Why not run it back?

Much has changed since that match, of course, but the clubs remain the same and their penchant for scoring and winning thrillers does too. Will Real Madrid win their 14th final or will Liverpool claim their second Champions League trophy in four years? We'll get to that pick in a second after we go through the odds.

Liverpool vs. Real Madrid Odds and Over/Under

Match Result:

  • Liverpool (-105)
  • Real Madrid (+275)
  • Draw (+275)

Over/Under:

  • 2.5 Goals (Over -135/Under: +110)

Liverpool vs. Real Madrid Prediction and Pick

There is no quit in Real, as we've learned in their comeback wins against Manchester City, Chelsea and PSG in the Champions League knockout rounds. Having already dispatched Liverpool's biggest competition for English Premier League supremacy, Real looks to bag their third English club of this competition and win their first title since 2018, which was their third straight in this competition. Real has already won La Liga and face no stiff competition between now and this match against Liverpool. That could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it.

Liverpool, meanwhile, is in the throws of a heated race for the EPL title and also has the FA Cup Final ahead. They've already won the Carabao Cup and could hoist four trophies before all is said and done. But with that comes pressure and sometimes that doesn't work in the more talented side's favor.

Not this time. While Liverpool does have a harder finish ahead of this rematch, they have the same time off as Real ahead of this game. They'll have played in two cup finals before the granddaddy of them all and I believe that experience will be critical for them in this showdown.

With a staunch defense anchored by Virgil van Dijk, a midfield paced by Thiago Alcantara and an attack featuring the four-headed monster of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, I think Liverpool has a few more options than Real and that talent will see it through to a title. It's never wise to bet against Real in the Champions League final, especially since they've won their last seven matches in this stage, but Liverpool has to the tools to neutralize Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and the rest of Real's attack while I don't see the same on the other side's defense.
