Lorenzo Sonego vs. Rafael Nadal Prediction and Pick Wimbledon Third Round Prediction and Pick
By Reed Wallach
Rafael Nadal wasn't supposed to compete at Wimbledon, but don't tell him.
The 2022 Australian and French Open champion has been on a tear at Wimbledon, setting up another run for his third major this year. He has a third round matchup against Lorenzo Sonego.
Here are the odds for this third round showdown with Nadal sitting as a big favorite:

Lorenzo Sonego vs. Rafael Nadal Prediction and Pick
Sonego made quick work of Hugo Gaston in the second round, winning in straight sets, after going the distance in the first round against Denis Kudla.
He runs into a buzzsaw in Nadal, who will be able to match his serve with his incredible ability to generate rallies and finish off points. The odds are correct in that Nadal is overwhelmingly likely to win, but I think his dominance is being understated.
While the Italian won in straight sets last round, he only got 61% of his first serves in play, a number that won't fly against someone with Nadal's talent. I think we can see some lopsided sets with Nadal's ability to hold serve and pounce on Sonego's second. Give me the under 35.5 in the third round as the favorite continues his march for a third major in a row.
LEAN: UNDER 35.5 (-115)
