The LSU Tigers are heading into Tuscaloosa this weekend to face off against the No. 3 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Both teams are coming off a BYE week and will be well-rested and well-read heading into this game.

LSU enters Week 10 with a 4-4 record and it needs to find two more wins this season to qualify for a bowl game. The Tigers started the season off strong but have lost three of their last four games so it will be interesting to see which LSU team shows up on Saturday night.

Alabama, meanwhile, is coming off back-to-back wins over Mississippi State and Tennessee to move to 7-1 on the season. As of now, Alabama is in control of the SEC West even with a loss to Texas A&M a few weeks back.

Here are the odds for this SEC showdown, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

LSU vs. Alabama Prediction and Pick

As stated above, the biggest question for me heading into this game is which LSU team do we see in Tuscaloosa? Is this the LSU team that beat Florida 49-42 a couple of weeks back? Or, is this the LSU team that lost 31-17 in their last game against Ole Miss? If it is the former then we can expect a pretty good game. If not, then LSU will likely get blown out for the second week in a row. LSU is still fighting for a bowl game but I think that the Tigers won’t get any closer to that six-win season this weekend.

I would say that LSU could jump out early and surprise Bama but, with this game taking place at night, the crowd at Bryant Denny Stadium will be bumping. I think this is a big advantage for the Crimson Tide. The only thing that worries me about this spread is how many points are scored against Alabama. The Crimson Tide ranks 30th in the nation in terms of points scored against. They make up for it by having the second highest-scoring offense in the nation, but, are vulnerable on defense.

Because of this, I will be skipping the spread and taking a shot on the total. LSU is in desperation mode and with Alabama’s relatively soft pass defense, Max Johnson and the Tigers could put on a show this weekend. Not enough to beat Bama, but enough to push this game over the total.

Prediction: LSU vs Alabama OVER 61.5 (-110)
