The LSU Tigers are back on the road after enjoying a two-game homestand when they take on South Carolina at the Colonial Life Arena. The Tigers are riding a three-game winning streak after a convincing 84-65 win over the Georgia Bulldogs. The Tigers shot nearly 50 percent in that game and have put together a nice bit of momentum over the last three games.

The Gamecocks are coming off back-to-back wins including one over Georgia 80-68 and a two-point nailbiter over the Ole Miss Rebels. This marks the first meeting between these two SEC rivals this year. Here are the odds for this conference clash, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

LSU vs. South Carolina Prediction and Pick

The LSU Tigers surprised me by bouncing back this late into the season after a very rough stretch of games. Most teams would have thrown in the towel after losing six of seven in January. But, the Tigers fought and have found a second wind over the last couple of weeks. Their offense is playing better, having scored 84 on Georgia and 76 on Texas A&M. Their defense has been on a tear too and is averaging 65.5 PPG allowed in their last three.

Speaking of defense, that is where LSU wins games as they rank 15th in the nation in points per game allowed. They are tenacious defenders with an assist to turnover ratio of 0.619 which is third-best in college basketball. Between limiting teams to 28.2 percent shooting from downtown and 37.6 percent overall, the Gamecocks are going to struggle to score. Considering that South Carolina’s offense is 174th in the country with an average of 70 PPG, the Tigers have shut down better offenses than this and I expect them to grind out an ATS win.

Lean: LSU -4.5
