A marquee SEC showdown goes down in Knoxville, Tennessee with the Volunteers hosting the LSU Tigers in a rematch from an early January win for LSU in Baton Rouge.

Tennessee has struggled against elite foes this season, but LSU has been handed two losses over the past week. Can they get back on track on the road, or will Rick Barnes' Vols exact some revenge from the 12 point loss on January 8th?

Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook.

LSU vs. Tennessee Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • LSU: +5.5 (-105)
  • Tennessee: -5.5 (-115)

Moneyline:

  • LSU: +185
  • Tennessee: -235

Total: 132.5 (Over -110/Under -110)

LSU vs. Tennessee Prediction and Pick

This line has been blown out towards Tennessee as many people are buying into the narrative that the Vols are set for some revenge and LSU is ripe for some negative regression on defense. Will Wade's club has the best defense in the country, paced by a top five turnover rate and 26% defensive three-point percentage, the latter being unsustainable.

These are excellent points, but there is no more value in betting the Vols at this price. LSU is still without their starting point guard in Xavier Pinson, who is nursing a knee injury, but that has been baked into the number and Eric Gaines has played well in relief, averaging nearly 10 points per game in three starts without him.

While there is some negative regression coming LSU's way, I'm not sure Tennessee is the team to make them pay. Barnes' team makes just 32% of their three pointers on the season on a very high rate, top third in the country.

The Vols are also poor from the free throw line making me wary of laying a big number against them.

Tennessee struggles to pull away from teams with their volatile offense and I expect both defenses to create a ton of turnovers in what should be a sloppy game.

I don't see value in the spread, but I do prefer the under quite a bit with the Tigers likely down their point guard but still a strong defense that can limit the Vols offense.

LEAN: Under 132.5
