No.16 LSU was an average team last season, literally. The Tigers went 5-5 in the regular season, winning the last two games to save themselves from a losing record. This is a completely different team than the one that won a National Championship two years ago, but the Tigers are ready to have a bounce back season.

On the other side, UCLA is still trying to figure itself out. Chip Kelly has been there for three years and hasn’t won five games in a season yet. The Bruins haven’t been to a bowl game since 2017, and time is running out on Kelly. He’s going to have to figure out how to turn the program around or else he might be on his way out.

Here are the odds for their matchup via WynnBET.

  • UCLA went 4-3 against the spread in 2020.

LSU vs. UCLA Prediction and Pick

Although they looked dominant against Hawaii, I’m staying away from UCLA and leaning towards the Tigers. The Bruins can obviously score with nearly anybody in the country, but Chip Kelly has proven that his version of the UCLA team is inconsistent. This is the first year the Bruins started 1-0 in Kelly’s tenure and it will be tested against the Tigers, who are back with a lot of talent and a chip on their shoulder.

I’m going to take LSU on the moneyline, and I’ll take the over. This game has a lot of potential for points and that is what will make this an exciting win for LSU.
