The Philadelphia Phillies made moves this offseason in hopes of snapping their nine-year playoff drought. They prioritized retaining top talent in J.T. Realmuto, Didi Gregorius and Rhys Hoskins. And of course, the lineup is headlined by Bryce Harper.
Philadelphia also added back-end starters in Chase Anderson and Matt Moore and revamped their bullpen by signing Jose Alvarado and Archie Bradley. The early returns are great after the team went 3-0 to begin the year.

Sweeping Atlanta, who's the three-time defending division winner, is quite the statement from Philadelphia to begin the year. They didn't do it in flashy fashion, totaling 9 runs across three games. Yet the way they quieted the Braves' bats was dominant in itself. Atlanta managed 2, 0 and 1 runs scored during the series. Philadelphia's investment in its pitching is paying off so far.
Phillies fans should be giddy that the the team is still winning games even if the Harper-led offense hasn't even found its stride yet. This more well-rounded roster could be the one to finally break through and return to October baseball.
