Mac Jones Can Lock Up Offensive Rookie of the Year with Win on Monday Night Football
By Reed Wallach
The New England Patriots head to Buffalo to face the Bills with the winner leaving in sole possession of first place of the AFC East.
New England enters winners of six straight, 8-4 on the year and in the mix for the top seed in the AFC. At the helm of the streak has been rookie quarterback Mac Jones, who has anchored a Pats offense that has the best EPA/Play over the last six weeks.
In lockstep with the success of the Patriots, Jones has surged to the top of the Rookie of the Year odds at WynnBET Sportsbook, moving past Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase for the award.
After another quiet performance from the former LSU standout, he caught five passes for 52 yards, Jones has a chance to wrap this award up on prime time in one of the games of 2021 season.
The Patriots enter Buffalo as three-point underdogs at WynnBET, but could have matchup advantages in the passing game now that the Bills are down No. 1 cornerback Tre'Davious White, who suffered a torn ACL on Thanksgiving against the Saints.
It's worth mentioning there is expected to be extreme wind in this one (as discussed on today's Bet & Breakfast which you can listen to below!), so Jones may not put up gaudy numbers, but winning is the key.
If the Alabama product is able to lead his team to a decisive win on the road, this award is all but wrapped up. Even with a loss, Jones will enter the final five weeks of the season as the odds on favorite to win OROY considering he is starting at QB (the position that gets the benefit of the doubt in every award race) for a playoff team.
