Mac Jones vs. Zach Wilson: Who Will Have More Yards?

Mac Jones outperformed one AFC East quarterback last week, outplaying Tua Tagovailoa, and is expected to do the same thing this week to Zach Wilson.

The two rookies will face off against each other in what will be the first matchup between any of the first-round rookies. Last week, Wilson had his struggles against the Panthers, while Jones nearly led the Patriots to a win. 

Both quarterbacks are still learning the ropes of the NFL, but are expected to have an interesting battle on Sunday. WynnBET has set Jones’ passing yard prop at 246.5 yards, and Wilson’s at 237.5, with both lines at a -115 pick’em.

However, Wilson doesn’t have as good of an offensive line or running back as Jones, so that will limit his ceiling. Gang Green got bad news this week too, starting offensive lineman Mekhi Becton will miss four-to-six weeks with a knee injury. That being said, Wilson did throw for 258 yards last week against the Panthers. Both quarterbacks should go over their projected totals, but Wilson will have to fall in second place again. 

The Jets started off extremely slow last week, not scoring until the third quarter. If that happens again, expect Jones to take full advantage of extra possessions and lead the Patriots to their first win.
