The Orlando Magic have yet to win a game in the early going of 2022, but perhaps their matchup tonight vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers provides a hopeful glimpse into the future.

The Cleveland Cavaliers drafted Evan Mobley with the third overall pick a season ago, and started to see their young core develop around their budding superstar, eventually opening the door to acquire Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz to the mix.

With top pick Paolo Banchero looking more like the true top option off the board through the early going, the Magic may not win many games, but there's talent forming on their roster.

Do they have enough to make a run at the Cavaliers this evening? Here are the latest odds:

Magic vs. Cavaliers Prediction and Pick

There's a lot to like about about Cleveland as a home favorite tonight, but there's a lot more to like about the under at 215 (down to 214.5 at several books) as well.

The Cavaliers rank fourth in the NBA this year in defensive rating and top seven in opponent effective field goal percentage in the early going this year. They've stepped up their defensive intensity against solid teams from a season ago in Toronto, Chicago, and then Washington in the early going.

Banchero has been terrific, becoming the third ever No. 1 pick in the draft with four straight games of 20-plus points since Elvin Hayes and Oscar Robertson. But oddsmakers don't like him to get there tonight, placing his over/under anywhere between 18.5-19.5.

Orlando owns the sixth-worst offensive rating in the NBA this year, and also face a Cavs team that operates at the second-lowest pace in the league.

I like the Cavs to control the Magic all game long, leading to an under play for tonight.
