The Red Devils are coming off a loss to their rivals Manchester City in Matchday 11 with a final of 2-0. They were dominated across the pitch and continued to underperform against quality teams. This is the latest in a string of losses that have Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job in jeopardy. Solskjaer has chanced formations, personnel, and game plans but this team remains broken. It is a miracle that they are still sixth in the EPL. 

Watford presents a plus matchup for United and has lost their last two fixtures 1-0.  This is the first of a long string of hard games for Watford including matches against Leichester, Chelsea, and Manchester City over the next few weeks.

Watford has fallen all the way down to 17th in the Premier League after losing four of their last five games. They have already replaced a manager but their new coach, Claudio Ranieri, hasn’t been much more effective. This is the game that Manchester United needs to get back on track and start beating the teams they should. They have a lot of ground to make up to catch Chelsea in 5th place and I think that journey starts on Saturday. 

A win will help spur this team and buy Solskjaer some time to sort this team out and get them playing up to their potential. Manchester United has lost just two games to Watford in their last 20 matches with the last coming two years ago at Vicarage road 2-0. 

While I believe that United wins this game, there isn’t much value in taking them straight up. But, both of these teams have below-average defenses and with the firepower United has, I like the OVER 2.5 goal bet here.
