The Manhattan Jaspers  will travel to play the Canisius Golden Griffins today in a matchup of very similar teams. Canisius is the home favorite, but they’ve lost four straight games.

Let’s start with the odds via WynnBET.

Manhattan vs. Canisius Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Manhattan +2.0 (-105)
  • Canisius -2.0 (-115)

Moneyline:

  • Manhattan +110
  • Canisius -130

Total:

  • 142.0 (Over -110 | Under -110)

Manhattan vs. Canisius Prediction and Pick

Looking at the game log for Canisius is a bit weird. They’ve lost their last four games, and in each of those games, they’ve allowed between 70-73 points. They have also scored between 62-67 points in each of those four as well. At least they’ve been consistent, I guess.

These two teams stack up very well statistically. Manhattan averages 70.8 points per game to Canisius’ 67.1. Both of these teams allow their opponents to shoot at a high percentage, with the Jaspers allowing opponents to shoot at a 53.3% adjusted field goal percentage, while the Golden Griffin’s allow a 51.8% adjusted field goal percentage.

The Jaspers are led by forward Jose Perez, who averaged 18.8 points, 3.5 rounds, and 4.7 assists per game on a 42.9% field goal percentage. He isn’t the most dangerous three point shooter, but he gets help there from guard Ant Nelson, who can shoot the three at a 42.6% clip. Canisius’ leading scorer is Armon Harried at only 12.1 points per game.

Canisius has not been playing their best basketball as of late, and with the statistical balance between the two teams, I’ll give the edge to Perez and the Jaspers on the road.

Lean: Manhattan +2.0 (-110)
