The Atlantic Division rivals are two of the NHL’s top-scoring teams and should put on quite a show tonight. Both teams are on an 8-2 run, but only Florida has clinched a playoff berth so far. Toronto is on a five-game tear and will make the playoffs. It’s just a matter of when they make it official. Their last game was a very impressive 6-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Sergei Bobrovsky and Jack Campbell, the probable goaltenders, are going to have a very stressful night between the pipes. Both teams have what can only be described as elite offenses and regularly punish soft defenses. The Panthers lead the NHL in scoring at an astonishing 4.12 goals per game. The Panthers also lead the NHL in generating high-danger chances and have an expected goal rate that ranks second best. 

Toronto has been brutal to deal with for defenses too this year with 3.76 goals per game average. They also rank in the top five in high danger chances, power-play scoring, and penalty kill percentage. One negative on the Maple Leafs is that this is the second half of a back-to-back. But, they looked sharp last night and weren’t stressed at any point in their dominant win. 

I won’t complicate things here. This game is going to be an explosive shootout and I, for one, can't wait. I’m betting on fireworks tonight in Florida.
