Two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference will face-off at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night when the Toronto Maple Leafs take on the New York Rangers.

The Maple Leafs are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, but they need to continue to win to keep pace with the Lightning and Panthers in the Atlantic Division. Toronto has three games in hand on Florida, and five on Tampa Bay.

Meanwhile, the Rangers are tied with the Hurricanes for the top spot in the Metropolitan Division with 54 points. Carolina has three games in hand, so New York will need to continue to rack up victories to stay in contention for the top spot in the division.

Let's take a look at the odds via WynnBET for tonight's Eastern Conference showdown.

Maple Leafs vs. Rangers Prediction and Pick

Tonight's game is a battle between the top two goaltenders in the NHL. The Rangers' Igor Shesterkin leads the NHL in save percentage at .939 and Jack Campbell of the Maple Leafs ranks second at .931.

With the goaltenders being a wash, we have to focus on the two teams and there's no doubt in my mind that the Maple Leafs are the better squad. Toronto ranks sixth in CORSI%, while New York ranks 30th. The Maple Leafs also rank third in high danger scoring chances while the Rangers rank 14th.

Let's not overthink this bet. Wagering on the Rangers when they have a massive goaltending advantage, like they normally do, makes sense. But with Campbell in net for the Leafs, Toronto is the play.

Also full disclosure, I'm 4-0 betting on games that I've attended live. Something to keep in mind.

Pick: Maple Leafs -145
