Mark Ingram Expects to Carry the Load, Not Alvin Kamara, for Saints vs. Cowboys
Alvin Kamara has been out for several weeks and although he’s closer to returning to the field, the Saints -- specifically Mark Ingram -- are ready to play on Thursday Night Football without him.
Ingram has started the last three of the last four games for the Saints, totaling 285 scrimmage yards and one touchdown. The Saints traded for Ingram at the end of October, which was a great idea considering what they were about to go through.
Even if Ingram is feeling healthy and good, Saints fans should temper their expectations for him. He hasn’t rushed for over 100 yards since Week 12 of the 2019 season.
New Orleans desperately needs for Ingram to have a vintage performance against the Dallas Cowboys. The Saints have the third-worst rushing attack over the last three games. They need to keep up with Dallas’ offense somehow, and if Trevor Siemian can’t get the job done through the air, then the onus is on Ingram to get it done on the ground.
Ingram may have a chance at doing so as well. Dallas is ranked No. 19 in the league in yards per rush allowed. If the Saints can figure out a way to attack their defense on the ground, they can have success on Thursday night.
However, all of that depends on which Mark Ingram decides to play. WynnBET hasn’t released his rushing yards prop, but it would behoove you to keep an eye on them the way Ingram is talking.
