Marlins vs. Mets Prediction and Odds for Thursday, July 7 (Miami Could Upset New York)
By Peter Dewey
The New York Mets take on a streaking Miami Marlins team on Thursday as they look to build their lead in the NL East.
The Marlins keep climbing closer to .500 after being seven games back at the start of the month, and now they have a chance to upset the Mets with an interesting pitching matchup Thursday.
Daniel Castano (1-1, 2.42 ERA) gets the ball for Miami against Trevor Williams (1-5, 4.34 ERA) for New York.
Here are the odds via WynnBET for this matchup:
Marlins vs. Mets Odds, Run Line and Total

- Mets -1.5 (+120)
Moneyline:
- Marlins +146
- Mets -156
Total:

Marlins vs. Mets Prediction and Pick
This will be Williams’ seventh start of the season, and the Mets have gone 2-4 in his starts and 4-11 in games he has pitched in during the 2022 season.
Williams was iffy in his last start, allowing five runs in just 3.2 innings of work in a 7-3 loss to the Texas Rangers.
While the Marlins are an auto-fade against lefties, they aren’t the same against righties like Williams. Miami ranks ninth in the league in OPS against right-handed pitching and has the fifth-most hits in baseball against them.
The Mets have been sputtering a bit on offense, getting shut out by the Cincinnati Reds on
Tuesday and ranking 24th in OPS over the last 15 days.
I’ll back Miami to cover in this one.
Lean: Marlins RL +1.5 (-145)
