Marlins vs. Pirates Prediction and Odds for Saturday, July 23 (Pittsburgh Undervalued at Home)
By Reed Wallach
Two teams planning for the future meet in Pittsburgh on Saturday night.
The Marlins are climbing towards .500 while the Pirates are starting to play their bright young prospects and seeing some slow growth, even if their record doesn't show it just yet at 39-55 on the year.
While it's a youth movement in Pittsburgh, veteran lefty Jose Quintana is enjoying his best season in several years for the Pirates and will look to lock down a porous Marlins lineup.
Here's the odds for Saturday's meeting with odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook:

- Marlins: -1.5 (+140)
- Pirates: +1.5 (-170)

Total:

Marlins vs. Pirates Prediction and Pick
The Marlins broke out of their elongated slump on Friday night, beating Pittsburgh 8-1, but it's been tough sledding for this Miami team of late.
I'm not so sure we can count on this starting a heater for the Fish, who are the worst team in baseball at hitting lefties (.609 OPS). Against Quintana, who has a 3.99 ERA with a 3.33 FIP, the Fish may start a new scoreless streak.
Max Meyer is making his second big league start, and I'm not sold on him being a road favorite against anyone. Both offenses are bottom five in the month of July in terms of wRC+ so I'll take advantage of the favorable pitching matchup the Pirates have and back them as slight home underdogs.
LEAN: Pirates ML (+103)
