A pair of struggling teams open up a three-game series today as the 21-26 Colorado Rockies host the 19-26 Miami Marlins at 4:10 PM EST.

Both clubs have lost four of five and are seeing their seasons slip away. Colorado will send Ryan Feltner to the mound for his third start of the campaign. The 25-year-old righty has 5.40 ERA in his first two outings, but will be making his first appearance at the hitter-friendly Coors Field.

Miami will counter with Pablo Lopez, who brings a 4-2 record and 2.04 ERA into today's contest. After only surrendering five total runs in his first seven starts, Lopez has surrendered seven runs in his last two.

Can Lopez steady the ship and give Miami a road win to kick this series off, or will Colorado's home-field advantage prove the difference?

Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to help us analyze this Marlins vs Rockies matchup:

Marlins vs Rockies Prediction and Pick

This matchup comes down to which Pablo Lopez we get. Will we see the Cy Young contender that opened the season with a 1.05 ERA in his first six starts? Or will we see the command issues that plagued him over his last two outings pop back up?

Colorado ranks just 23rd in OPS against right-handed pitchers in May, but they're always dangerous at Coors Field. Lopez shut the Rockies down last season over eight innings, but it was at home. Can he do the same on the road?

I'm inclined to think the answer is yes. Or at least, I think the chances are higher than the current odds imply. Miami's offense is due for a breakthrough. They're 10th in OPS against righty's this month, but have hit poorly with runners in scoring position and haven't scored more than four runs in their last 10 games.

That changes today against Ryan Feltner, who has shown solid ability, but a propensity to give up home runs and walks if his command is shaky. With the thin air at Coors, I expect the ball to fly off the bat today.

Miami is 4-1 in their last five on the road and will welcome a step-down in competition after difficult series against Atlanta and Tampa Bay. The Rockies are just 4-11 in their last 15 as an underdog and are a team I'm looking to fade moving forward. I'll trust that Lopez returns to form and gives the Marlins a much-needed victory.

Pick: Marlins (-145)
